Duration: 1 Day
The HETAS H004 – Wet Appliance Installer course is aimed at candidates who have relevant plumbing/heating work experience and have already completed the HETAS H003 – Dry Appliance Installer Course. The course includes both theory and practical assessment. Successful completion leads to certification that can be used for registration on the competent persons scheme for the installation of wet appliances.
Prerequisites
Candidates must hold HETAS H003 AND at least one of the following:
- City & Guilds 6129 & 6089 or equivalent
- City & Guilds 6189 or equivalent
- OFTEC 101
- ACS qualifications CCN1 & CEN1
- Verifiable work experience on wet stove installations
Renewal & Re-assessment
To date HETAS certificates have had no expiry date. However, this is due to change. The Government’s Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has made it a requirement that all members of Competent Person Schemes (CPS) such as those run by HETAS should renew their technical qualifications every five years (just as Gas Engineers have had to do with ACS qualifications in order to remain a member of the Gas Safety Register). Renewing your H004 certificate will involve attending the 1 Day H004 course and passing the end of course assessment. The requirement is set to come into force June 2014 for training certificates older than five years at that point.
