HETAS H003 – Dry Appliance Installer

Duration: 3 Days

The HETAS H003 – Dry Appliance Installer course is aimed at candidates who have relevant work experience. They should have a knowledge and understanding of building regulations and trade experience in the heating/construction industry.

The course includes both theory and practical assessment. Successful completion leads to certification that can be used for registration on the competent persons scheme for the installation of dry appliances.

Prerequisites

Candidates must hold at least one of  the following:

  • Demonstrable, appropriate previous work experience
  • Evidence of OFTEC 101 or 102
  • Evidence of Gas Safe Registration with the competencies CCN1 and HTR1
  • registered member of GOMCS, APICS or NACS

Refresher training & Assessment

To date HETAS certificates have had no expiry date. However, this is due to change. The Government’s Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has made it a requirement that all members of Competent Person Schemes (CPS) such as those run by HETAS should renew their technical qualifications every five years (just as Gas Engineers have had to do with ACS qualifications in order to remain a member of the Gas Safety Register). If you wish to renew your H003 certificate then we can provide you with the option to be reassessed* rather than attend the full course. The requirement is set to come into force June 2014 for training certificates older than five years at that point.

*Provided you pass an initial short pre-assessment test.
