Job Description:
Primarily responsible for training of engineers in all plumbing and heating.  Essentially you will be part of a growing team with a firm aspiration to be the biggest and best in the market.

We have positions available at our Bristol, Falkirk and Leamington Spa training centres. The successful candidate should be prepared to stay away on occasion to assess at our other centres as required. You will be working alone and expected to be dynamic in method to develop our training and relationships in the local area during periods of no training.

Job Requirements:
You must have a clear technical understanding of Plumbing and Heating and it would be an advantage to have an understanding of Renewable Technologies.  You will be required to be I.T. literate and understand corporate culture and workings. You will need to be hard working, helpful to clients and open to change, development and opportunity.

Must have an ability to display innovation, leadership and inspiration with the ability to work as part of a team or on your own, with good planning, prioritisation and communication skills.

Essential Experience:
Qualification and experience in Plumbing and Heating installation
A1 assessor qualification
Hold a full British driving licence
Basic IT skills, using Microsoft products such as Outlook, word and PowerPoint.

Don’t forget that you do not need to wait right till the end of your current ticket to be re-assessed. ACS tickets work on an MOT style system so that operatives with expiring ACS tickets can take the relevant assessments up to six months prior to the expiry date of existing certificates. The expiry date of the new certificate will be five years plus the remaining time period on the expiring certificate.

Greg Barker, Minister of State, Department of Energy and Climate Change accompanied by Michael Fallon MP Sevenoaks, visited Sevenoaks Energy Academy on 27^th October 2011. The guests were received by Managing Director Julie Walker. The visit was arranged to allow the Minister of State to view the newly refurbished state of the art Renewables Training facilities at S.E.A.

During the visit the Minister of State was shown the new “Passivhaus” Solar PV and Solar Thermal training  facility and the HETAS Biomass training suite where working examples of the latest boilers were on display. They went on to view the other renewables training rigs and the purpose built City & Guilds Plumbing training centre.

After the tour light refreshments were taken and a discussion about our training partnership with Plumb Center, (which is based on making training more accessible and more affordable) Renewables Training in general and encouraging young people into the industry took place. The Minister of State then gave a short presentation on the Green Deal.

It has has been a tough time for job seekers and business alike through the recession. Understanding the frustrations of job seekers in this tough economic time Julie decided to make a fundamental impact to helping five unemployed job seekers who wanted to train as plumbers.

Three of those who applied have now completed their course and received their City & Guilds 6129 Level 2 Plumbing Certificate.
