Course Aim
The Health and Safety course is designed to provide an introduction to the health and safety aspects of installing renewable energy systems.
Who would benefit?
The course is aimed at electrical personnel who wish to design, install, inspect & test, commission and maintain renewable energy systems. This course provides one of the qualifications needed to join the micro-generation certification (mcs) scheme.
Pre-requisites
Persons attending the course MUST have at least one of the following qualifications:-
- There are no formal pre-requisites for this course
Course Content
The course consists of the following training modules:
- Induction. An introduction to the course.
- COSHH. Knowing your substances.
- Manual Handling. Taking the strain out of lifting.
- Working at Heights. Avoiding a fall
Assessment
Assessment is via a combination of practical tasks, assessment sheets and formal examination
Course Duration and Location
This 1 day course is available at our training centres
Certification
Successful candidates are awarded an NICEIC Health & Safety certificate. Candidates wishing to gain accreditation under the micro-generation certification scheme will also need an NICEIC (or equivalent) Certificate for the technology you are installing (e.g.PV) and may also benefit from completing the NICEIC Quality Management Systems course. These are usually held in the same week as the PV course to make one convenient 5 day package.
